About
Unea:
4/5
stars. Soundi

"Young
guitarist plays and composes excellently without succumbing to
artificial tricks. Extra points have to be given to electric
arrangements and to accompanying musicians."
Satakunnan Kansa, Ilari Tapio.
"Many
young players will listen to this record with guitars on their laps
trying to figure it out where on Earth Timo invents all those things."
4/5 stars. Savon Sanomat, Risto Löf.
"Elegant
playing and elegant music." 3/5 stars.
Rytmi 4 /05, Timo Vähäsilta.
"...Timo
Kämäräinen is an excellently fabulous,
virtuosic and versatile guitarist. Now
Kämäräinen is also a brilliant composer
since this record greatly points out his skills.", Jazzrytmit 2/05,
Osku Rajala.
Finnish
guitarist Timo Kämäräinen composed his dreams
Timo's first
soloalbum
"Unea" was released in March, 2005. On Unea Timo has composed his
dreams, which are quite colourful by the way. In his dreams there are
cartoon characters, a mysterious flowergirl and sometimes he is in a
spaceship with a band going to a gig to another galaxy. Timo has been
writing his dreams down for 10 years now. In most of his dreams he also
hears the music and after waking up he writes it on notes. All the
songs on Unea have either been heard in a dream or Timo has composed
them after waking up according to the feeling he had in a
dream.
The
musical genre of
Unea-record is, according to Timo, "scandinavian cinematographical
rockjazz". Some influences to the music might be found from classical
jazz-albums such as Mike Oldfield's Tubular
Bells.
Also
a theater piece
"Eläviä kuvia" has been created based on Unea-music.
The
piece was showed in theaters in Helsinki in March
2005.
The
following talented
Finnish musicians play on the record: Jukka Eskola, Olli Haavisto,
Arttu Takalo, Timo Hirvonen, Mikko Kaakkuriniemi, Pentti Lahti, Eeppi
Ursin, Anssi Växby, Mikko Helevä, Joonas Riippa ja
Ilmari
Pohjola.
